The Paint Clan Bag - "Helping Hands for Cherokee Health"

 February: Bony Moon [Kagali]

My inspiration for this bag is that Healthcare is very important to the Cherokees.

This is a wonderful bag to frame or display in a Doctor's Office, Clinic,  Show your Native Heritage Roots and be the Proud owner of this Bag

The Paint Clan were the ones that made Red paint, it was used in painting faces. They also painted the body for war, and when during a  sickness.  The medicine person knew the medicine plants, and would collect them, then they would help the sick.  The Blue Clan was in charge of the Medicine plants for the Children.

The Boney Moon Month  was a time of fasting.  "A community dance officiated by a "doctor" Didanawiskawi commonly referred to as a Medicine-person. Connected to this moon is the "Medicine Dance". Blue Panther 2002
