October: Harvest Moon [Duninudi]
This bag is currently being showed at Ladynin.com
The Wolf Clan were known as the Protectors. The model is wearing a loose open turban style headband. This is his choice of turban. Typical from that time period. Cherokees wore turbans per direct quote from the Cherokee Nation: "The introduction of the turban indirectly came from the Muslim people. When a Cherokee delegation went to visit the Royal Family of England, the men were thought to be very frightening with their tattooed heads and bodies." (Cherokee Nation, 1998-2008 p.)
This won a Blue Ribbon at the LA County Fair in Los Angeles, CA 2004
Size of bag: 9"x9" bag with 27" shoulder straps
100% wool, glass seed beads, cotton tassels, cotton calico lining, polyester ribbon, Hand sewn construction. Family tree design with leaves, wolf paw prints, Pau shell with wolf charm. A modified Bandolier bag based on the Cherokee Bandolier. Note: Cherokee Bandolier bags have a triangle flap. I modified this one to be more square only because I wanted a Mixed heriatage look. This bag is based on my Family tree.
